Fuel tanks

  1. Big fuel tank
  2. Small fuel tank

A fuel tank (or petrol tank) is a safe container for flammable fluids.

Due to economic reasons many manufacturers use HDPE (high density polyethylene) as a material. This has advantages in the short term but the will get soaked after fuels as gasoline and diesel permeate the plastic.

Other disadvantages can be low toughness and higher fuel emission.

NOS tank

Nos tank img.png The nitrous oxide tank is most commonly known from racing, movies and gaming. In this case the oxygen required for burning fuel comes from the composition of nitrous oxide rather than air itself.

This system increases the internal combustion engine's power output by allowing fuel to be burned at a higher rate than normally would be the case. As long as the fuel is available, the tank will provide you with the necessary boost.

Batteries

  1. Battery
  2. Battery pack

A battery is a device that converts chemical energy into direct current. The first devices that showed ressemblance with batteries were invented in the Middle East about 1000 B.C., however they were lost and forgotten for a long time.

The father of the first first modern batteries was Alessandro Volta who invented what we call the voltaic pile. Later on batteries were bottles with a fluid and some metal rods in them. This had several disadvantages, therefore most modern batteries have a sealed case and the fluid is soaked up in a kind of paste.

  • activation_input

Assign input to this property as follows:

  • Click on the field next to the property
  • Select the input you wish to assign to the property

Excla mark.pngGood to know

  • Linking one fuel tank with multiple consumers will supply them with fuel at a normal rate of 1, but it will cut the lifespan of the fuel tank in half
  • Nos tanks have higher burn rates than regular fuel tanks; when activated a mixture of NOS and regular fuel will occur
  • You can link a display to multiple seats
  • You can't link the input_controler property with multiple seats
  • In key-bindings you can customize your controls and change the button or axis that is used for each input
