Seats are the core of most vehicles. They are where the player sits down and controls their vehicle from. There are several different types of seats available for use. Most seats also feature a steering wheel. while the steering wheel doesn't actually do anything, it can be a pleasing aesthetic to add onto the realism of a vehicle.

Types of Seats

Seat Settings

All seats share settings that are common to every type of seat in the game. Therefore, these inputs, properties, and outputs apply to every seat.

Inputs
  • Zoom - Values between 0 and 1 will zoom in the camera; 0 will set the FoV to the maximum value (not zoomed in) and 1 to the minimum (max zoom).
Properties
  • Field of View Min - The value, in degrees, that describes how wide the field of view will be when totally zoomed in.
  • Field of View Max - The value, in degrees, that describes how wide the field of view will be when not zoomed in.
  • Look Around - Allows free camera movement while first-person.
  • Take Control - Allows the player to control the seat while building. This setting only applies while in the project builder.
  • Smooth Output - Smooths the output of the seat slowly over a short period of time, instead of instantly changing the value of the output.
  • Driver Seat - Causes whoever is in this seat to calculate physics for the vehicle. If no seats have this option, whoever spawned the vehicle will calculate the physics. (This setting only matters in multiplayer)
  • Keybind Preset - Selects one of several premade sets of outputs, complete with keybinds. These overwrite all current outputs.
  • View Direction Offset X - A number between 0 and 1. Applies an offset to the output View Direction on the horizontal axis. 0.5 is default. Anything less with offset left, anything more will offset right.
  • View Direction Offset Y - A number between 0 and 1. Applies an offset to the output View Direction on the vertical axis. 0.5 is default. Anything less with offset down, anything more will offset up.
Outputs
  • View Direction - Outputs the direction the seated player is looking.
  • Is Seated - A binary 0 or 1 that indicates whether or not a players is seated in the seat.
Notes
  • Not all seats have steering wheels. The Passenger Bucket Seat lacks one.
